DS-Tenderness, DS-512

Description of the variety

This variety is true to its name. Large (8-10 cm) flowers emit a sweet aroma. Young flowers are pink but acquire a peach tint with age. A light -- almost white -- border adds even more sweetness. Flowers have a heavy, fleshy texture and are long-lasting. Peduncles (stems) are thick, strong and robust, of optimal length, and can hold 5-7 blooms. Rosette consists of large, thick, vigorous rounded leaves of a moderate length. This plant is able to produce an abundant covering of blooms (we call it a “hat”.)

Cultivation

Cultivar responds well to transplantation, quickly producing new leaves and peduncles. It is recommended to leave 1 or two rosettes on the plants.
The optimum pot size for a two-year-old plant is about 15 cm (diameter) with a maximum size of 22 cm.
This cultivar makes a good exhibition plant.
