DS-FIRE MARS is one of the most compact Streptocarpus.

The flowers are not big but are fade-proof. The rich saturation of blood-red color is better when the environment is cooler and the water is not hard.
This hybrid blooms constantly.
The rosette is very small and consists of firm rounded leaves.
Since this hybrid is hard water sensitive the soil should consist of 50% materials such as like crashed charcoal, sphagnum, pine bark or perlite.
DS-Fiery Marc should be grown with only one rosette per bush, because it has wide rounded leaves. After two years, young side-rosettes could be rooted or the main central rosette could be cut out of the bush and re-rooted.
The optimum pot size for a two-year-old plant is about 10 cm (4’) with a maximum size of 12 cm (4.75’).

Leaves are rounded, thick, saturated with chlorophyll and isoflavonoids. This variety has good immunity to patogenes.
Flowers stay for a long time; they do not drop when are transported.
This one survived two trips: to and from the show.

When temperature is high the color pattern becomes more contrast, red transforms to ruby.

This variety has amazingly stable red pigment. This is August 2010 without conditioner. Among many Dimetris' red Streps this one survived the best.

It is so compact that the best pot size about 4"

This hybrid flowers for about three years, after that it is better to grow again from leaves. Also you could remove all old soil and plant it deeper like African Violet.
On the window sill. In reality color is different.
